Acupuncture and Fertility, Pregnancy and Beyond...Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) can increase the chances of becoming pregnant. It can be useful for individuals or couples who hope for a natural conception or for those who are undergoing Assisted Reproduction Technology (ie; IVF, IUI, etc.,). Recent research has shown that having acupuncture treatment in conjunction with ART increases women’s chances of becoming pregnant. It is important to realise acupuncture can be of benefit to males to enhance fertility as it can help improve the quality and motility of the sperm. For best results acupuncture should begin at least 3 months prior to ART procedure.
How Acupuncture and TCM can enhance fertility.

Sheila Kumar is a graduate of the Acupuncture Foundation of Ireland who is affiliated with the Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, which is a World health organisation officially accredited body.Sheila brings a beautiful authenticity to her work by living the values that she espouses. She places a huge emphasis on nutrition and lifestyle and all treatments include consultation with advice.
Sheila is offering acupuncture, specialising in Womens Health and the treatment of Acupuncture for help with fertility, endometreosis, menopause, PCOS, PMS and general promotion of female wellbeing.</p>
She is currently undertaking a degree in Nutrition and Functional medicine with the Institute of Health Sciences in Dublin, a postgraduate course in TCM Gynaecology and obstetric lectured by Dr Trevor Wing, and Visceral manipulation courses run by the Barrel institute in Dublin.
Her training and work with clients has given her a wealth of experience dealing with a wide range of both common and unusual illnesses, which has allowed her to gain a greater understanding of what her clients are experiencing and how it can effect them on both on a physical and emotional level. As every person is individual sheila draws on both her knowledge and experience to create a holistic, person centred experience, by using acupuncture together with holistic therapies, nutrition and lifestyle advise, with the aim to bring balance back to the body and mind.
